Like most specialty providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.

FAQs
While I work best with women, I’m grateful to work with people of all genders. If what I’ve shared about my approach and the issues I help with resonates with you, you’re welcome here.
I believe in being fully transparent with my clients. It’s important for you to know the pros and cons of using out-of-network benefits versus paying privately for therapy. Assuring your privacy and giving you the best treatment possible are my priorities.
Should you choose to use your out-of-network benefits, I am required to give you a mental health diagnosis that will become a part of your health record. Your insurance plan may dictate the number of sessions that you can have, how often you can see me, and if you’re able to see me via telehealth. Your insurance company can also ask me for records of the content of our sessions. Should you choose to pay privately, a mental health diagnosis is not required and there is no limit on the frequency or duration of sessions. Your privacy and records are protected and you are free to see me online or in-person.
Yes of course! If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, you are welcome to use them.
I am happy to submit claims on your behalf via a service called Thrizer. Thrizer lets you use your out-of-network benefits right away. Instead of paying the full session fee, you just pay your share (like a copay), and they bill your insurance for the rest — no paperwork or waiting for reimbursements.
If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company will typically reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session after you’ve met your deductible.
I’d be happy to check your benefits for you! Just make sure to have your insurance card handy, with your Member ID, during our intro call.
Or if you prefer, you can confirm the benefits of your health insurance plan, with your insurance provider directly. Just call the number on the back of your health insurance card listed under Member Services.
You can ask them the following questions:
Your out-of-network benefits are usually pretty straightforward to use!
I partner with a company, Thrizer, who can submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf for a small fee. After you’ve met your deductible, you would simply pay your co-insurance and Thrizer can cover the rest of the cost for you, while they wait for reimbursement from your insurance company.
We can discuss this in more detail on an intro call and see what works best for you!
Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
If I’m unable to offer you a sliding scale spot, I’d be happy to offer referrals to trusted clinicians in the area.

No, therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I am only licensed to work with residents of New York, New Jersey, and Florida. You must live in one of these states in order for us to work together.
I have limited in-person availability in Brooklyn during the daytime Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. I also offer virtual therapy (telehealth) which allows for the same level of quality and care as in-person sessions but from the comfort of your home.
Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15 minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:
If we both decide we’re a good fit after our intro call, we’ll schedule our intake appointment. I’ll send you some forms to complete before our first session.
Our first session (the intake session) will be held virtually. I’ll ask you a lot of questions so I can get a solid sense of your history and what’s going on in your life right now. It’s basically a chance for me to gather all the information I need to understand you — no judgment, just getting the full picture. You’ll also have space to bring up whatever feels important. From there, we’ll start figuring out what you actually want to work on in therapy, so we’re not just talking — we’re working toward something real.
Therapy sessions are held once a week. Meeting weekly gives us enough momentum to actually make progress — you won’t lose track of what we’re working on or feel like you’re starting over each time. It also helps build the kind of consistency and trust that therapy depends on. Life doesn’t wait, and weekly sessions give us the space to tackle things as they come up, keep you moving forward, and make real changes that stick.
You’re allowed up to 4 absences each year (about 1 per quarter) with at least 48 hours’ notice. If you miss a session without notice, you’re responsible for the full fee. After those 4 absences, any additional missed sessions — even with notice — will also be charged at the full rate.
Therapy is typically a process that takes about a year. That gives us enough time to dig into the underlying patterns, not just the surface problems, and start making meaningful, lasting changes. Some people choose to stay longer if new goals come up or they want continued support. It’s something we’ll keep an open conversation about, so therapy fits what you need — no more, no less.
